Bangalore, July 25, 2018: The biggest takeaway from the manner in which teams bid for players in the recently concluded Players’ Auction in the Karbonn Smartphones Karnataka Premier League Powered by Lakshmi Vilas Bank, was the equal emphasis on experience and rising talent. A lot of the established stars from Karnataka were expected to be picked for the India A and Duleep Trophy sides but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the managements of the seven teams in any way. All thanks to the sheer depth of talent available in the State.

Girls School in Haryana Renamed as Shaheed Vikas Yadav Girls School

Today Haryana State Education Department renamed the Govt Senior Secondary Girls School, Kosli in Rewari district as Shaheed Major Vikas Yadav Senior Secondary School. The initiative has been driven by District Education Board with the support of the family of Late Major Vikas Yadav. The renaming was to pay respect to Major Vikas Yadav of 7 Jat Regiment who had laid his life fighting militants in Jammu and Kashmir. The renaming coincides with his birth anniversary. The event also saw unveiling of statue of the valiant officer by Lt Gen SK Saini, Colonel of the Jat Regiment.

Swachh Bharat Summer Internship

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, the convening and coordinating Ministry of Swachh Bharat Mission, in association with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, has come up with the innovative ‘Swachh Bharat Summer Internship (SBSI) 2018’aimed at engaging the college youth with Swachhata work in villages in the coming Summer vacation. This is in line with the Prime Minister’s clarion call on 2nd October 2014 for each individual to devote 100 hours to Swachhata through the year,

India and China Agree to A Roadmap for Addressing Trade Imbalance

The eleventh session of the China-India joint-group on Economic Relations, Trade, Science & Technology was held on March 26, 2018. Rajasthan’s first mega food park at Ajmer

Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today inaugurated M/s Greentech Mega Food Park Private Ltd -the first mega food park in Rajasthan at Roopangarh Village in Ajmer. The Park has been set up at a cost of Rs 113.57 crore and will benefit around 25,000 farmers in this as well as neighbouring districts.

New Delhi, 20th March 2018: In order to develop skills and increase productive of the rural youth, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) inked an agreement today in New Delhi. MOU was signed in the august presence of Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Shri Anantkumar Hegde, Minister of State, MSDE.

President hosts President of Vietnam; Says Indian and Vietnamese Economies complement each other

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, received His Excellency Mr Tran Dai Quang, the President of Vietnam at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (March 3, 2018). He also hosted a banquet in his honour.

Welcoming the Vietnamese President to India, the President thanked Vietnam for the crucial role it played as coordinator country in ensuring substantive outcomes at the ASEAN India Commemorative Summit held in New Delhi in January 2018.

Navika Sagar Parikrama - Tarini Enters Cape Town, South Africa

INSV Tarini entered Cape Town (South Africa) today during it’s maiden voyage to circumnavigate the globe. This is the first-ever Indian circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women crew. The vessel is skippered by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi, and the crew comprises Lieutenant Commanders Pratibha Jamwal, P Swathi, and Lieutenants S Vijaya Devi, B Aishwarya and Payal Gupta.

Customer Friendly Initiatives Extended to the Public by Indian Railways

Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) charges will not be levied on passengers for booking railway tickets (at the railway ticketing counters as well as through IRCTC ticketing website) on payment made through Debit Cards for a transaction value upto Rupees one lakh. Instructions to this effect has been issued to the Banks by Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance on 26th February 2018. This will further help in promoting digital and cashless transactions.
